Faith Gospel Tabernacle was founded in August 1979 by Bishop Walter G. Francis, his wife Minister Naomi Francis, and their two children, Leroy and Heather, at their home in East Orange, New Jersey. In 1998, the church found its home at 70 Mill Road in Irvington, New Jersey. In March 2000, Faith Gospel Tabernacle added to its branches with one opening in New York, and two in Connecticut. On September 12, 2011 Walter G. Francis' vision of a bible school was realized with the first batch beginning classes. The Senior Pastor Reverend Dr. Heather Francis is one of the first four graduates to have earned a Doctorate in Theology at the New Jersey Campus. On February 4, 2013, Bishop Walter G. Francis, Founder and Pastor of Faith Gospel Tabernacle, went home to be with the Lord. Elder Naomi Francis was appointed as Pastor, Minister Heather Francis as Assistant Pastor and Bishop Dr. Herbert N. Scott as overseer. On December 18, 2022, Apostle Naomi Francis-Grant, appointed Reverend Dr. Heather Francis as Senior Pastor of the church. Today, Faith Gospel Tabernacle continues to be shepherded by Senior Pastor Reverend Dr. Heather Francis-Moncrieffe. Through her compassionate leadership and profound wisdom, she not only nurtures her flock's spiritual growth, but also fosters a strong sense of community within our church.
